Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
Latreece Towers: Hi, I’m Latreece, and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I’m a proud mom, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner dedicated to continuing my education. With four years of experience as a lash technician, I recently expanded into the smoking accessory business. I founded TREECE Luxury Smoking Elements, where I craft and source my line of green smoking cones and accessories. While it’s been a challenging yet rewarding journey, I’m focused on mastering time management to maintain a healthy balance between my family life and growing business. My passion for entrepreneurship and personal growth drives me every day to keep moving forward.

If you have a business, could you describe it and how you started it?
Latreece Towers: I own two businesses. The first is Eres Bella Beauty Lounge, which I established in March 2020. I specialize in helping women look and feel beautiful, focusing on creating a relaxing and rejuvenating experience during each lash session. I like to tell my clients that they not only leave with beautiful, natural-looking lashes but also with a sense of relaxation, as each session offers them a moment to unwind and release stress.
My second business is TREECE Luxury Smoking Elements, where I created a brand designed to make the smoking experience effortless. My products allow customers to grind and stuff easily, offering a convenient and elevated experience. Both businesses are built around providing quality, care, and a unique experience for my clients.

Can you tell us about your journey as a serial entrepreneur and how you got started in your field?
Latreece Towers: My journey as a serial entrepreneur began in 2020 when I took a lash class and became licensed through Lashing Out Ink. The beginning was not easy—there were times when I struggled financially and questioned how I would continue. Despite the challenges, I persevered, and over time, my client base grew, allowing me to establish myself in the beauty industry.
TREECE Luxury Smoking Elements was created out of my desire to build a brand that was personal and meaningful to me. It all started with designing graphics on the Canva app, where I crafted my unique vision. I then sent those designs to manufacturers to bring my ideas to life. This is just the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, and I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and expanding both of my businesses.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in your industry and how have you overcome them?
Latreece Towers: I haven’t faced many challenges specifically because I’m a woman in my industry. However, I’ve learned that when one person says no, a "yes" may come from someone else, often another woman. I’ve found strength in resilience and in the support of other women who empower and uplift one another. By maintaining a positive mindset, staying persistent, and embracing the power of female solidarity, I’ve been able to navigate any obstacles that come my way.

Can you share with us a tough decision you had to make in your business and how you navigated it?
Latreece Towers: I haven’t encountered a particularly difficult decision in my business so far, but I recognize that challenges will inevitably arise. To navigate these decisions when they come, I plan to invest time in research and actively network within my industry. By staying informed and building strong connections, I can make well-informed, confident choices when faced with difficult situations.

How do you stay motivated and inspired to continue growing your business ventures?
Latreece Towers: I stay motivated by consistently reconnecting with my "why"—the reason I started my business in the first place. Keeping that purpose at the forefront of my mind helps me maintain focus and drive, even during challenging times. Additionally, I find inspiration by following and learning from others who have achieved success. Their journeys and accomplishments serve as a reminder that growth is possible and motivate me to continue striving toward my own goals.

How do you measure success in your career and what does it mean to you?
Latreece Towers: I measure my success by the ability to retain clients and build lasting relationships. If clients continue to return, it’s a clear indication that I’m providing value and meeting their needs. To me, success is not just about numbers but about creating an experience that makes clients feel valued and supported. Their trust and continued loyalty are the most meaningful measures of my success.

How have you continued to challenge yourself and grow as a leader?
Latreece Towers: Honestly, it’s a challenge every day. Everything I’ve accomplished has been through my efforts— from managing my family’s social media to designing my website. I’ve done it all myself. When I look at what I’ve created, I remind myself to do whatever I can to keep it moving forward. This constant drive to learn, adapt, and take ownership of every aspect of my business helps me grow as a leader.

What does being an empowering boss mean to you, and how do you strive to embody that in your everyday life and interactions with others?
Latreece Towers: Being an empowering boss means being steadfast in support of a good cause and always uplifting others. It’s about creating an environment where collaboration, encouragement, and growth are at the forefront. An empowering boss doesn’t gatekeep; she shares knowledge and helps others thrive. In my daily interactions, I strive to embody this by offering a smile, a friendly "hello," and making sure everyone feels seen and valued. That’s the essence of TREECE—creating a culture of positivity, support, and empowerment for everyone around me.

How do you prioritize self-care and maintaining a healthy work-life balance? What tips can you offer other busy women?
Latreece Towers: Self-care is essential. I’ve made it a priority to work out 4-5 times a week, and even something as simple as a walk can completely transform my day. I always keep a pen and paper handy or have my notepad ready to jot down important tasks and ideas. I review my to-do list daily and try to complete at least one task each day. I also make it a point to follow up with partners and stay organized.
I ensure I schedule "bestie dates" at least once a month to nurture important friendships and maintain a sense of connection outside of work.
As a mom, I dedicate quality one-on-one time to each of my children. This not only helps us bond but also reminds them of the importance of what I’m working toward.

How do you give back to your community and use your platform to make a positive impact?
Latreece Towers: I give back to my community through my Facebook group, Black Love San Antonio, which celebrates all forms of Black love and highlights the vibrant contributions of the Black community. The group also provides a platform to showcase Black-owned businesses, helping to increase their visibility and support. Additionally, I host monthly pop-up markets to create opportunities for local entrepreneurs to connect with the community and grow their businesses. These efforts allow me to foster connections, celebrate Black culture, and empower small businesses in the area.

What are your future goals and aspirations, both personally and professionally?
Latreece Towers: My future goals are to grow in all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally. I aim to build meaningful relationships and collaborate with professional partners who share similar aspirations and values. By aligning with like-minded individuals, I hope to create opportunities for mutual success and continuous development.

What changes or advancements do you hope to see for women in your industry in the next 5-10 years?
Latreece Towers: In the next 5-10 years, I hope to see more women in my industry coming together to collaborate and support one another. By forming partnerships and sharing resources, we can create stronger networks, amplify our impact, and empower each other to achieve greater success.

Latreece Towers: My advice to women just starting in the industry is to invest time in thorough research, create a clear plan, and take decisive action. Knowledge is power, so understanding your industry, setting specific goals, and executing with confidence and consistency are essential steps toward achieving success.

Latreece Towers: I empower and inspire other women by offering free advice and mentorship to those who have taken a lash course with me. I’m passionate about helping others grow and succeed by sharing my knowledge and experience. Although I haven’t yet connected with others in the smoking accessory industry, I’m eager to build relationships and collaborate with like-minded individuals in the future.
