Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?

Vernetta Gregg: Hi, I'm Vee, a hair growth expert and the founder of Hair At Nine. I empower men and women struggling with hair loss not just to regain their hair but to reclaim their confidence. My approach is rooted in creating custom plans that focus on healthy habits, proven techniques, and the right tools for long-term hair retention. Through my Hair Health Transformation programs, I share years of research, personal experience, and client success stories to provide actionable strategies and personalized guidance. Having witnessed firsthand—both in my journey and with hundreds of clients—the power of the right knowledge and consistent routines, I know how transformative hair wellness can be.

My passion for hair wasn’t just a childhood hobby; it was a calling. Inspired by my grandmother, a licensed cosmetologist, I discovered my love for hair care at just nine years old while nervously assisting her with a hair coloring session. That moment sparked a lifelong journey—one that took me from braiding friends’ hair in middle school to taking paying clients in high school, attending cosmetology school, working alongside talented professionals, and ultimately becoming a certified Trichologist. Today, I do more than style hair; I help people understand the vital connection between their overall health and hair wellness. Hair At Nine is part of a bigger vision—creating spaces for holistic health and healing through beauty and beyond.

Provide a brief description about your Women's Health Topic

Vernetta Gregg: At Hair At Nine, we recognize that hair is more than just aesthetics—it’s a reflection of inner health. For women, hair loss and thinning can often be linked to hormonal fluctuations, stress, nutritional deficiencies, and underlying medical conditions. This is where Trichology, the scientific study of hair and scalp health, plays a crucial role. As Trichologists, we identify the root causes of hair concerns and take a holistic approach by evaluating diet, lifestyle, and medical history to develop personalized solutions. By addressing these internal factors, we not only promote healthy hair growth but also contribute to overall well-being. Our mission is to empower women with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health, starting with their hair.

“Healthy hair starts from within—nourish your body, empower your growth”.

From childhood hair experiments to becoming a licensed hairstylist and certified Trichologist, my journey with hair has been fueled by passion and purpose. It all started with my grandmother, VJ, a licensed cosmetologist whose signature frosted tips inspired Hair At Nine. At just nine years old, I nervously assisted her with a hair coloring session—a moment that solidified my love for hair. The precision required, her trust in me, and the joy of transformation sparked a lifelong commitment to hair health.

That passion only grew stronger. I braided hair in elementary school, booked "verbal appointments" in middle school, and built a steady clientele in high school—all while attending Prairie View A&M University and completing cosmetology school by 2011. Now, as a Trichologist and hair loss practitioner, I’ve helped countless clients restore their hair and confidence through science-backed strategies and personalized care. Over time, my focus has expanded beyond styling to total body wellness, understanding that hair health is deeply connected to overall health.

Today, Hair At Nine is more than just a business—it’s part of a larger vision to educate, empower, and create spaces where beauty, health, and healing come together.

Healthy Habits, Gorgeous Hair.
