Featuring Ysante McDowell: A Bold Woman of Faith, Purpose, and Impact
House District 30 Candidate Ysante McDowell was born and raised in Union County, South Carolina, spending parts of her childhood in Jonesville, Spartanburg, and Union. Growing up in a single-parent home presented its share of challenges, but those early experiences helped shape the resilient and compassionate woman she is today.
As an adult, Ysante has built her life in Spartanburg County, where she resides with her husband of 25 years and their two children, a son and daughter.
Mrs. McDowell is the co-CEO of Ed’s All Purpose Seasoning and Rub LLC, a family business that began in their kitchen in 2015. With her husband creating the original blend, Ysante took the vision further—introducing their product to local stores and expanding the brand from a single trial-size seasoning to a thriving product line featuring eight unique blends now carried in over a dozen retail locations. In addition to her entrepreneurial journey, she is also an author and writer, and from 2015 to 2018, she founded and led a nonprofit organization focused on community empowerment.
A woman of faith, Ysante is known for her spiritual and professional mentorship. She pours into others the same strength and guidance that helped her overcome life’s challenges. She is a living testament to the power of perseverance and faith, and she continues to inspire those around her through her journey.
What makes Ysante McDowell a bold woman is her unwavering desire to see others thrive. She is deeply motivated by witnessing people pursue their dreams, believe in their purpose, and make the most of what has been placed in their hands. Her boldness is rooted in lifting others as she climbs, making her a leader and a catalyst for growth and transformation in her community.
