Why should you be on the cover of Empowering Boss Life Magazine?

Joanette Brookes-George: My journey towards empowerment encompasses a multifaceted narrative that I believe merits consideration for the cover of Empowering Boss Life Magazine. As a Principal Consultant at Unmute Yourself, Inc., specializing in social justice, education, and combating sexual violence, my extensive almost 3-decade career has been marked by a commitment to addressing complex societal challenges.

Beyond my consultancy role, my involvement as a successful private investor and Financial/Business Coach at Leveraged Investments, Inc. adds depth to my professional profile. As a Certified Financial Planner and Real Estate Investor, I leverage my financial background to provide comprehensive advisory services, not only to large corporations but also to small businesses, non-profits, and individuals seeking personal improvement.

The personal aspect of my journey, however, brings a unique layer of depth to my story. Having experienced sexual violence myself, I turned that painful chapter of my life into the driving force behind my nonprofit organization, Unmute Yourself. This organization was born out of the determination to empower survivors and raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence. Drawing on my 20 years of research, I am deeply committed to combating interpersonal violence, and my expertise informs the development of effective strategies and programs driving meaningful change.

In my academic pursuits, I am in the final stages of a Ph.D. in Ethical Leadership, specializing in Criminal Justice, with master's degrees in International and Intercultural Education and Public Administration. Certificates in Human Resource Management and Conflict Resolution further enrich my knowledge foundation, allowing me to address diverse educational challenges. My role as a professor for over a decade has equipped me with the skills to excel in this field, emphasizing the importance of resilience, grit, and emotional intelligence.

In my personal life, I extend my commitment to empowerment as a wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Creating a home environment that reflects the values of justice, inclusivity, and continuous growth is as vital to me as my professional endeavors. It is within the intimate circles of family that I exemplify the principles of resilience, empathy, and accountability that I champion in my wider advocacy.

My dedication to impactful social initiatives goes beyond my professional duties. Collaborating with local and international NGOs, I actively raise awareness and conduct research on critical topics, making a tangible impact on both local and global communities.

Being featured on the cover of Empowering Boss Life Magazine would not only celebrate the culmination of my professional achievements but also shed light on the profound personal journey that has shaped my commitment to empowerment. It would serve as a testament to overcoming adversity, transforming pain into purpose, and empowering others to rise above their challenges.
